Joseph Kornelsen (WEST END BIZ)
The West End Business Improvement Zone has hired a new executive director to lead the organization.
Joseph Kornelsen will assume the role as of August 1, replacing Gloria Cardwell-Hoeppner, who is retiring at the end of July after more than 12 years with the West End BIZ.
Kornelsen has been with the BIZ since 2013 and most recently held the position of promotion & economic development coordinator and executive assistant.
“The West End is one of the best neighbourhoods in Winnipeg. I’ve had the opportunity to connect with so many folks in the neighbourhood already and I’m thrilled to serve this community of dedicated restauranteurs, retailers, entrepreneurs and hard-working business people as the executive director of the West End BIZ,” Kornelsen said in a statement.
He holds a degree in economics from the University of Winnipeg and frequently speaks and writes about urban issues.
