The Independent Investigation Unit is seeking witnesses of an incident involving Winnipeg police officers where a man later died.
Police responded to the area of Flora Avenue and Parr Street on Sunday afternoon where a man appeared to be armed and bleeding.
Officers chased the suspect for a short distance and eventually arrested him. An ambulance was then called and the man became unresponsive. He was taken to Health Sciences Centre and was pronounced deceased.
As the incident involved a death, a request for a civilian monitor will be made to the Manitoba Police Commission.
