A new town is being built inside Assiniboine Park Zoo this winter.
Polar Town will get visitors into the holiday spirit with a month-long winter lights festival.
The after-hours event will feature the latest in outdoor lighting technology and projection to magically illuminate Manitoba’s newest fictional town.
“More than just a winter light show, Zoo Lights Festival will feature interactive experiences, entertainment, and amazing cultural, musical and artistic experiences,” said Stephanie Meilleur, events producer, in a release.
The festival will also include interactive experiences and warmup areas, visits from Santa, fire pits, nightly entertainment, a Third + Bird market, and food.
The lights display inside Polar Town will run for 32 nights from November 30, 2019 to January 5, 2020.
A complete schedule of events will be released in September. Tickets will go on sale in mid-October.
