Manitoba RCMP have charged a Winnipeg man after an alleged bomb threat was made towards a pipeline in the Morden/Winkler area.

Police say on October 19, 2018, an employee of an energy company reported to his manager that he had overheard a colleague make a bomb threat.

The pipeline was immediately shut down and RCMP were called in to investigate. A thorough search of the area deemed it safe and no explosives were found.

RCMP continued to investigate and determined the employee who overheard the bomb threat made a false allegation.

On July 7, Ryan Fullerton, 37, was charged with two counts of public mischief and mischief over $5,000. He will appear in Morden court on August 13.
