Did somebody say bacon? Mmm.
The Winnipeg Goldeyes are bringing back Bacon Night to Shaw Park this season when the Fish host the Texas Air Hogs on July 24.
The night will be full of… you guessed it, bacon-themed fun! The baseball club is partnering with Manitoba Pork and TSN 1290 for meaty activities.
“Bacon always makes it better,” said Susan Riese, Manitoba Pork’s manager of public relations and consumer marketing.
“And Winnipeg is the nation’s bacon production champion. Speaking of champions, we are pleased to welcome the World and Olympic champion Jennifer Jones curling team to participate in Goldeyes Bacon Night.”
Goldeyes players will be wearing special bacon-print jerseys during the game. The jerseys come with matching bacon hats, which the first 1,000 fans will receive for free in bucket form. Fans can also purchase regular bacon-style hats at The Dugout Souvenir Store, along with specially designed Goldeyes Bacon Night T-shirts.
Tickets can be purchased at Goldeyes.com/tickets or in person at the Shaw Park box office.
