A crash near Selkirk on Monday claimed the life of one man and sent six other people to hospital.
RCMP say the collision happened just before 2 p.m. on Highway 9 at Meadowdale Road in the RM of St. Andrews.
A 78-year-old man from Warren, Manitoba was driving eastbound on Meadowdale when his vehicle turned onto Highway 9 and collided with a truck that was heading south.
Police say the man was pronounced deceased on scene. His 74-year-old female passenger was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The 33-year-old man driving the truck, along with his 32-year-old female passenger and three young children, went to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All of the occupants were from Winnipeg.
RCMP are investigating the crash, but say alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor.
