An 82-year-old man has died after a two-vehicle crash Sunday on Henderson Highway at the north Perimeter exit ramp.
RCMP say the man, from the RM of East St. Paul, was heading south on Henderson at around 4:45 p.m. when he tried to make a left-hand turn onto the north Perimeter. His vehicle was struck by a northbound vehicle being driving from a 58-year-old East St. Paul man.
The elderly driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced deceased. RCMP say he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. The other driver suffered minor injuries.
Police say their early investigation indicates the first driver tried to turn onto the exit ramp and failed to yield the right of way.
Alcohol isn’t considered a factor in the crash.
