To cap off the dog days of summer, the City of Winnipeg is opening two outdoor wading pools to dogs.
Two city pools will accommodate (licensed) canines on Saturday, August 31 for one last dip before summer ends.
Pooches and their owners can visit:
- Bruce Park Wading Pool, 1966 Portage Avenue
- Southdale Community Centre Wading Pool, 254 Lakewood Boulevard
Bruce Park will host dogs under 30 pounds from 10 a.m. to noon. Dogs over 30 pounds can swim from 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Southdale CC will host dogs over 30 pounds from 10 a.m. to noon, and dogs under 30 pounds from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Select city spray pads and outdoor pools will remain open (for humans only) until August 30 and September 2. Visit the city’s website for specific hours and operating information.
