Winnipeg police arrested dozens of people over the summer as part of Project Guardian, a crack down on sexual exploitation in the city.
From June 16 to August 31, police conducted 38 Deter and Identify stops, resulting in 34 arrests related to street sexual exploitation. Five people were also arrested for online sexual exploitation.
Nine outreach agencies were contacted and four educational presentations were made by members of the Counter Exploitation Unit.
Police also say six Provincial Offence Act violations were issued in connection with sexual exploitation, while 10 intelligence reports were generated from partner agencies for further investigation.
