WINNIPEG — One person was sent to hospital in stable condition early Sunday after a house fire in the 1100 block of Manitoba Avenue.
Winnipeg firefighters responded to the one and a half storey residence at around 1:20 a.m. Crews encountered flames and heavy smoke and fought an offensive attack until the blaze was under control shortly before 2 a.m.
People inside had evacuated before crews arrived, but one person required attention by paramedics for a condition not related to the fire. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains investigation and no damage estimates are available.
