It’s time to deck the halls at Winnipeg’s City Hall.
The next Christmas tree to adorn the front yard of 510 Main Street is being sought by the city.
Officials are calling on Winnipeg homeowners to nominate their tree for donation this holiday season.
Potential Christmas tree candidates must be:
- Located in the front yard of a property with direct access to the tree and not adjacent to overhead utilities
- Twelve to 15 metres tall (approximately 40 to 50 feet)
- Fully symmetrical with a single trunk and no brown needles
The city’s Urban Forestry Branch staff will select the tree that best meets the identified criteria.
Crews will cut down the tree at no cost to the homeowner and the associated debris is cleaned up to remove the stump to approximately two inches below ground level.
Homeowners interested in nominating their tree should contact 311.
