A new program at Millennium Library is making it possible to borrow musical instruments.
Sun Life is donating more than 150 instruments, cases, and accessories to get the program off the ground.
“We are excited to provide more Canadians with access to music through this innovative program, one that aligns with our mission of building healthy and sustainable communities for life,” said Paul Joliat, assistant vice-President, global Partnerships, Sun Life.
“Music is very powerful and affects the way we think, feel and act, which is why the joy of making music is something every Canadian deserves to experience.”
Library cardholders can freely borrow a wide range of musical instruments, including guitars, mandolins, violins, portable keyboards, and various types of drums. Instruments must be checked out and returned at the Millennium Library only.
The city is looking for new or gently used guitars, banjos, ukuleles, violins, drums and portable keyboards to be donated to the program. Anyone with such instruments can drop them off at Millennium Library or at Long & McQuade (1845 Pembina Highway).
