A 63-year-old man from the RM of Tache was killed Friday night after being struck by a vehicle near Steinbach.
RCMP responded to the intersection of Highway 12 and Road 52 North at around 8:10 p.m.
They found the man had been walking northbound in the southbound lane when he was hit by a southbound SUV travelling on Highway 12.
The 34-year-old RM of Ste. Anne man driving the SUV stopped and called 911.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. No other injuries were reported.
Alcohol is not considered a factor and RCMP continue to investigate.
