A Manitoba man is recovering after being kidnapped, beaten and robbed by two people who broke into his Riverton home.
The 41-year-old was inside his residence on September 19 when a man and woman broke in and threatened him with a gun and a knife.
They forced the man to accompany them to Winnipeg, while he was robbed of his cell phone, cash and his half-ton truck.
Police say the victim was driven to numerous locations throughout Winnipeg and was held at a home at gunpoint for a period of time. Police say the suspects threatened to kill the man and further assaulted him while he was tied up. He was eventually able to escape and called police from a business in the area of Dufferin Avenue and McGregor Street.
Officers found the victim’s stolen truck two days later with two men inside, but they weren’t the suspects from the kidnapping.
Eduardo Campos, 28, faces numerous charges, including firearms offences. A 32-year-old man has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime.
Police continued their search for the original kidnapping suspects and located Tryli Beatrice Anderson, 38, on September 26. Reggie Jack Hansen, 36, was arrested on October 2.
Both Winnipeg suspects face kidnapping, assault, robbery and firearms charges. They remain in custody.
Police say the victim sustained extensive injuries to his face and head.
