The Independent Investigation Unit is looking into an incident where a man died after being arrested by RCMP officers in The Pas.
The 54-year-old was intoxicated when he was arrested on October 5. He was lodged in a cell at The Pas RCMP detachment, but became unresponsive when officers checked on him the next morning.
EMS attended and pronounced the man deceased.
The IIU has now taken over the investigation and no further details were released.
