Manitoba RCMP are working with local First Nations and the provincial Historic Resources Branch after human remains were found near Cauchon Lake.

A group of hunters came across the remains approximately 90 kilometres southeast of Thompson on October 2.

Police say their investigation has been completed and the bones are archaeological in nature.

Arrangements are underway to repatriate the bones through a proper burial.
