Valentine’s Day is a little less than four months away, but that doesn’t mean love needs to wait for a date night out on the town.
Six Manitoba restaurants have been named among the 50 best in Canada for a date, according to online table reservation service OpenTable.
“Given the added stress daters face when looking for the right restaurant, we wanted to create a go-to list that offers a restaurant for any date – whether it’s your first or one-thousandth,” said Anna Besse, director of marketing at OpenTable.
The six Manitoba restaurants that have made it onto the list are:
- 529 Wellington – Winnipeg
- Cafe Carlo – Winnipeg
- The Keg Steakhouse + Bar – Winnipeg (St. James and Garry Street)
- Peasant Cookery – Winnipeg
- Pineridge Hollow – RM of Springfield, MB

Ontario had the most date-friendly restaurants on the list at 35, following by 11 in Alberta and eight in British Columbia.
OpenTable’s list of the 50 best restaurants for a date in Canada was generated based on diner reviews collected between September 1, 2018 and August 31, 2019.
