Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a man after another man was shot in the St. Norbert area on Saturday night.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Dubois Place at around 7:45 p.m. for the report of a gunshot.
When police arrived, they located the house involved and found several firearms inside, including a .22 calibre rifle. No suspects were immediately located.
Officers learned the victim attended a nearby hospital for treatment from a gunshot wound.
A male suspect was found near the hospital and placed under arrest. Police say both the victim and suspect knew each other.
Joel Benarde Tencha of Winnipeg, 47, faces several firearms-related and assault charges. He remains in custody.
