Members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service are participating in an emergency response exercise today.

The live training exercise is being organized by Canadian Pacific (CP) Railway at the CP Winnipeg Yard between McPhillips Street and Arlington Street.

Residents may notice emergency vehicles in the general area.

The city says such exercises allow first responders from many partner agencies to work together to educate the public and coordinate response services. The exercises also allow responders to practice skills, identify gaps and build relationships.
