Winnipeg students in kindergarten to Grade 8 are learning the value of being kind to others.
The Winnipeg Police Association launched the eighth annual Cool 2Be Kind campaign Tuesday with the help of 200 students at Fort Rouge School.
Each participating school is encouraged to submit a positive behaviour/anti-bullying Kindness project proposal to receive $500 in funding to see their project come to life.
“As each school Kindness project is designed by students and educators to meet the specific needs of the students, it has a much greater chance of making an impact,” said Maurice Sabourin, president, WPA.
Over the past seven years, the Cool 2Be Kind campaign has funded 170 school Kindness projects totalling $85,000.
“We want young people to experience the power of kindness,” added Sabourin. “Being kind to others benefits everyone and is a recipe for happiness and success in life.”
The deadline to submit a project proposal is December 31, 2019. Learn more at cool2bekind.ca.
