Winnipeg police have charged two suspects with second-degree murder after a 14-year-old girl was stabbed at a Halloween party.
Investigators say police were called to a home Saturday night and found the 14-year-old and an 18-year-old woman in critical condition.
The 14-year-old later died in hospital and the woman’s condition was upgraded to stable.
Police say a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman have both been charged with second-degree murder and attempt to commit murder.
The violent crime is one of three weekend homicide cases Winnipeg police are investigating.
Police chief Danny Smyth has said too much violent crime is linked to the drug trade surrounding the methamphetamine crisis in the city.
