A train derailment in east Winnipeg on Friday left several rail cars leaning against a bridge on Lagimodiere Boulevard.

CN Rail says 12 empty grain cars derailed on the Lagimodiere overpass near Dawson Road at around 11:50 a.m.

The derailment partially halted traffic on northbound Lagimodiere near CN’s Symington Yard as emergency crews attended the scene.

The cause of the derailment isn’t known at this time.
