Charges have been laid in Winnipeg’s latest homicide that saw a 28-year-old man stabbed on Thursday morning.
Shortly before 10 a.m., police were called to the 800 block of St. Matthews Avenue for a report of suspicious circumstances.
Officers located a man suffering from stab wounds sustained within a home nearby. The victim had made it outside but collapsed. Matthew Allan Sutherland was taken to hospital in critical condition and pronounced deceased.
Police have since charged Michael Alexander Spence of Winnipeg, 32, with second-degree murder.
Police say both men were known to each other had been inside the home prior to the stabbing.
Spence remains in custody.
