A man, who admitted to police he had been using methamphetamine, threatened passengers with a knife aboard a Winnipeg Transit bus on Friday.

Police say the bus was travelling on Dunkirk Drive at around 12:45 a.m. when the incident occurred. The driver pulled the bus over near Kingston Row while talking with a transit supervisor.

The man got off the bus and was arrested by police after a short foot pursuit. Officers recovered an eight-inch knife from the suspect. No injuries were reported.

Roxy Pierre Colomb, 34, of Lynn Lake, Manitoba, has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon.

Police say Colomb told officers he was using meth prior to the incident. He remains in custody.
