Winnipeg police are investigating the city’s 38th homicide of the year after two people were shot at a downtown nightclub overnight.
Police say the men were shot at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at Citizen Nightclub in the 200 block Bannatyne Avenue. One man was taken to hospital in stable condition, while the other man was located deceased from his injuries.
He has been identified as Jamshaid Wahabi, 23.
A large number of people were inside the club at the time. Investigators are looking for anyone who may have cell phone video from the evening to contact the homicide unit at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
