WINNIPEG — The man fatally shot at a south Winnipeg townhouse on Monday night has been identified as a former football player of Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute.
Police say Rig Debak Moulebou, 20, was found with gunshot wounds when they arrived at around 11:45 p.m. to a townhouse on Tim Sale Drive in South Pointe.
Moulebou was a former captain, MVP and league defensive player of the Daniel McIntyre Maroons, according to a tweet from the team’s Twitter account.
Police haven’t released many details surrounding the city’s 40th homicide of the year. They say the victim wasn’t a resident of the home, but also wasn’t there illegally. Police don’t believe the shooting was random.
Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
