An elderly woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in Brandon on Monday morning.

Police say the 75-year-old pedestrian was walking southbound on the east side of the intersection of 26th Street and Park Avenue at around 9:18 a.m. when the collision occurred.

The woman suffered a significant head injury and was transported to Winnipeg’s Health Sciences Centre. She succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday, police say.

The motorist is cooperating with the investigation. Speed and intoxication aren’t factors in the crash.

Brandon police and traffic analysts are continuing to investigate.
