St. Andrews Man Charged in Fatal Crash on Highway 7

Manitoba RCMP have arrested a 23-year-old man after a fatal two-vehicle crash on Highway 7 at Road 107 North Sunday afternoon in the RM of Armstrong.

Police say a pickup truck was travelling westbound when it collided with a southbound minivan in the intersection at around 3:15 p.m., being driven by a 66-year-old Winnipeg man.

The RM of St. Andrews man driving the truck suffered minor injuries, along with his passenger.

Six people were in the minivan, including a 38-year-old man from Fisher River, who was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The remaining people in the van were transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested the driver of the pickup truck. He was later released and is facing charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and five counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

RCMP continue to investigate.
