Man Tasered After Swinging Knife in Middle of Winnipeg Intersection

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWinnipeg police had to use a Taser on a man Wednesday night after he stood in the middle of a south end intersection swinging a knife.

Police responded to the area of Pembina Highway and McGillivray Boulevard at around 9 p.m., where the man confronted officers in a fighting stance.

Police say the suspect also stabbed the hood of a vehicle and threatened to kill the driver.

The man didn’t respond to officer commands and was Tasered to be taken into custody.

Jeremy Brad Barker, 35, has been charged with numerous offences, including failing to comply with a probation order.

He remains in custody.
