Police Charge 20 Drivers During First Two Weeks of Checkstops

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWinnipeg police laid 20 impaired driving charges during the first two weeks of their holiday checkstop program.

Of 711 cars stopped, 508 roadside breath tests were administered, resulting in 12 warnings and seven fails.

Police say of the 20 drivers charged, one included a drug-impaired driver.

Fifteen traffic tickets were issued.

The highest blood alcohol concentration recorded was 250 mg%.
