Winnipeg police executed multiple search warrants Wednesday as part of an investigation into a sophisticated interprovincial organized crime network.
Project Highland began in April 2019 and includes collaboration with both the Ontario Provincial Police and the Province of Manitoba Finance and Taxation.
Police say aside from Winnipeg, search warrants were also carried out in rural Manitoba and in Ontario.
Few details have been released about the investigation. Police will hold a news conference on December 23 to explain more about Project Highland.
