A single-vehicle crash on Highway 6 has claimed the life of a Nelson House man.

Manitoba RCMP say an SUV was travelling northbound Saturday evening approximately 10 kilometres north of Devils Lake when it lost control and rolled into the ditch.

Road conditions at the time were icy, according to RCMP.

Police say the vehicle was being driven by a 58-year-old woman, also from Nelson House. Her passenger, a 51-year-old man, was pronounced deceased on scene.

Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts and alcohol isn’t considered a factor in the collision.

Grand Rapids RCMP continues to investigate.
