Winnipeg Teen Arrested with Zip Gun, Shotgun Shells

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestA 17-year-old Winnipeg boy has been arrested and charged after police located the wanted teen on Wednesday afternoon.

Police came across the suspect in the area of Selkirk Avenue and Andrews Street, where he immediately fled on foot. Officers caught up to him hiding in a yard in the 500 block of Flora Avenue.

Police searched the teen and found a zip gun, parts to make a zip gun, three 12-gauge shotgun shells, and three .22 calibre rounds of ammunition.

The teen is facing numerous charges and was processed on two outstanding arrest warrants for assault with a weapon and four counts of failing to comply with a sentence.

He remains in custody.
