Brandon residents can now apply for pet licences online.

Under a local bylaw, cats and dogs over six months of age must be licenced on an annual basis, whether they are considered indoor pets or not.

The process of obtaining a license can now be done through the City of Brandon’s website. For new licenses or renewals, pet owners must include their pet’s most current rabies vaccination expiry date and, if applicable, proof of spay or neuter.

The cost of obtaining a license is $20 for a spayed/neutered cat or dog, while the cost to register an unspayed/unneutered cat or dog is $56.

Licenses can still be picked up through the Finance and Legislative Services Departments at Brandon City Hall.

The fine for an unlicensed cat or dog in Brandon is $100.
