Off-Duty Winnipeg Police Officer Charged with Impaired Driving

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestAn off-duty Winnipeg police officer has been charged with impaired driving after RCMP conducted a checkstop last month.

RCMP were on Garven Road in the RM of Springfield the evening of December 15 when they checked a 35-year-old driver.

The man was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired.

Tyler Perkins was charged on Tuesday with impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration that was equal to or exceeded 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba was notified of the arrest and monitored the investigation.
