One man was killed and two others were injured Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 11 in the RM of Alexander.

Manitoba RCMP say a car was travelling west on Highway 11 at around 5:40 p.m. when it collided head-on with an eastbound truck approximately four kilometres east of Highway 59.

The 19-year-old Traverse Bay man driving the car was pronounced deceased at the scene. His 16-year-old male passenger, also from Traverse Bay, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police believe both people weren’t wearing seatbelts.

The 65-year-old St. Georges man driving the truck was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision, but RCMP say poor visibility and icy conditions were likely contributing factors.
