The Independent Investigation Unit is looking into the arrest of a woman after her arm was fractured following an interaction with Winnipeg police over the weekend.
Police responded to a woman in distress Sunday night in the 2600 block of Pembina Highway.
They found a 19-year-old woman who appeared to be intoxicated and attempted to take her into custody. The IIU says the woman became uncooperative and resisted arrest. Upon being handcuffed, she reported soreness to her left arm and was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment of fractures.
Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the IIU at 1-844-667-6060.
