Winnipeg police have arrested a man after they say he swung a machete inside a drinking establishment on Thursday afternoon.
Police were called to the Maryland Beer Store & Bar just after 4 p.m. at 740 Maryland Street, where the suspect allegedly threatened to assault patrons.
Police say he swung the machete in the direction of two people, but then hit a vacant chair, a round table and a flat-screen television with the weapon.
Officers later found the man causing a disturbance at a home in the 600 block of Victor Street. They say he was belligerent, extremely agitated and uncooperative with police.
