Man Hit Unconscious at Winnipeg Liquor Mart Trying to Stop Robbery

WINNIPEG — A 67-year-old man was left unconscious Saturday after trying to intervene in a theft at the Fort Richmond Liquor Mart.

Police say they responded at around 10:50 p.m. after a customer was assaulted inside the store.

The victim, who awoke and was able to meet with police, said he was hit with a bottle while trying to stop the theft. He suffered minor injuries and declined medical assistance.
