Man Arrested After Lengthy Standoff Near Dauphin

Dauphin RCMP had a home surrounded Tuesday after reports of an armed man inside with an injured woman.

The RCMP’s negotiation team and emergency response team were deployed to the Eclipse area, located east of Dauphin, just after 2 a.m.

At around 10:43 a.m., a 29-year-old man came out and surrendered to police. He was arrested without incident.

The 21 year-old woman was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say there wasn’t a threat to public safety during the ordeal.

The suspect remains in custody and Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
