The Independent Investigation Unit is looking into the death of a man while in the presence of Winnipeg police officers.
Police were responding to a report of a domestic dispute on Monday related to a man armed with a knife. While officers were attempting to diffuse the situation, the man suffered self-inflicted wounds and was taken to hospital. He was pronounced deceased at Health Sciences Centre.
The IIU is investigating and no further details were released.
