Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWinnipeg police have arrested and charged a suspect in connection with a homicide in the first 100 block of Middle Gate on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old victim, identified as Michael Bruyere of Winnipeg, was found deceased after suffering stab wounds just after 7:30 a.m.

Police had a two-storey home taped off for much of the day as they investigated.

At around 4:20 p.m., officers took a man into custody outside a convenience store in the 600 block of McPhillips Street.

Police say the victim and suspect knew each other and had been at the Middle Gate home in the early morning hours when a dispute occurred.

Bonwick remains in custody.
