A City of Winnipeg communications officer has made the cut to compete on the 8th season of “Big Brother Canada.”

Angie (Angela) Tackie is among 16 houseguests who will be sequestered in the BB house while being watched 24/7.

The 33-year-old describes herself as outgoing and plans to soak up every moment of the experience.

Prior to joining the city in 2013 as a 311 customer service representative, Tackie worked as an administrative officer with Manitoba Public Insurance.

“I really want to experience every single part of BBCAN — have a showmance, eat slop, win a veto, win an HOH, make an alliance — I want to endure everything I’ve studied from this game and enjoy it all,” Tackie said.

“My personality can be very big, and I think it’s bigger than I realize.”

This season promises no shortage of characters from all walks of life, including a lobster fisherman, professional wrestler, brain transformation specialist, and a military infantryman, among others.

While locked away in a Toronto-area studio, houseguests will not only be competing socially, but physically, to win perks and prizes along the way. The grand prize this season will be $100,000 for the last remaining houseguest. Other grand prizes include $10,000 worth of groceries and a dream vacation for two anywhere in the world from Expedia.

The two-night premiere of “Big Brother Canada” airs beginning Wednesday, March 4 at 9 p.m. CT on Global.
