Winnipeg police are investigating after a man was fatally shot in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue on Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the scene just after 8 a.m. and found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as Owen Russell Smith, 29.

The death is Winnipeg’s 26th homicide of the year.
UPDATED: Monday, August 31 — Winnipeg police arrested Albert Sam Campeau, 38, on August 28. The Winnipeg man has been charged second-degree murder and remains in custody.
