A 27-year-old man from Portage la Prairie was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway west of Winnipeg.
RCMP responded at around 7:30 p.m. near Provincial Road 242, where a minivan and semi-trailer had collided.
Officers determined a minivan travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes struck the semi head-on. The driver of the minivan was pronounced deceased on scene.
The 51-year-old Brandon man driving the semi sustained injuries and was taken to hospital in stable condition.
RCMP continue to investigate.
