A 12-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being stabbed inside a Thompson business on Saturday.
Manitoba RCMP were called to the Mystery Lake Road business just before 5 p.m., where the victim had retreated to get away from the suspect.
When police arrived, they found the teen with multiple physical injuries being provided medical assistance by several people. The youth was transported to the local hospital in stable condition and later transferred to Winnipeg.
Police say a 13-year-old boy chased the victim into the business and a fight began. During the altercation, the younger boy was stabbed and the suspect took off.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest on charges of aggravated assault. Police recovered the weapon at the scene.
RCMP continue to investigate.
