Winnipeg police have arrested and charged a man following an investigation into the downloading and sharing of child pornography.

Police began investigating in April 2021 and were able to forensically confirm the activity and the location.

A search warrant was executed at a suspect’s home on Thursday, where several electronic storage devices containing child pornography were seized.

Corbett Joseph William Ducharme, 44, has been charged with several offences and was released on numerous conditions.

In a separate incident, Winnipeg police arrested a 27-year-old man on July 27 on charges of attempting to lure children for a sexual purpose online, making child pornography and two counts of making sexually explicit material available to a person under the age of 18.

The suspect, who wasn’t named, was released with strict conditions to limit his access to the internet and anyone under 18.
