A 68-year-old man from Arborg, Manitoba was killed Tuesday in a three-vehicle collision on Highway 7.

The crash happened just before noon south of the PR 236 junction in the RM of Rockwood.

RCMP arrived to find a van in the ditch on its side, with the driver and lone occupant being pronounced deceased on scene.

Police say it appears the van was travelling southbound on Highway 7 when it crossed the centre line. A semi-trailer was northbound when the van crossed the line. The semi driver, a 79-year-old man from Winnipeg, tried to avoid the collision by moving to the shoulder, but the van struck the side of the semi. There was a pickup truck following the semi, and the van then struck that vehicle as well. The two men inside the truck, 34 and 37 from Winnipeg, weren’t injured. The semi driver also wasn’t injured.

RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
