Winnipeg police have charged a man after a physical altercation turned fatal at a home in the 400 block of Atlantic Avenue on July 31.
Police say two residents ended up in a heated argument when a 41-year-old man was assaulted. Several hours later, another resident discovered the victim and called 911.
Emergency personnel located the deceased man at around 3:30 a.m. on August 1 and transported him to hospital.
The victim has been identified as William Randle Sharpe of Winnipeg. His cause of death has been ruled a homicide.
Donnie Lavallee, 23, of Winnipeg has since been charged with manslaughter.
