A single-vehicle rollover crash in the RM of Alexander has claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy from Beausejour.

Manitoba RCMP responded to the crash at around 3:25 a.m. on July 31 at the intersection of Road 44E and Road 92N, approximately eight kilometres south of Stead.

Police say the vehicle was being driven by an 18-year-old Winnipeg man when the driver lost control and left the roadway, entered the ditch and rolled.

The driver, along with a 15-year-old male passenger, were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where they remain.

The Beausejour teen, who was riding as a passenger, was taken to hospital in serious condition and succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

RCMP say speed is believed to have been a factor and continue to investigate.
